WHAT IS THE “LISA” PROJECT

“LISA”, an acronym for “Books for a Solidarity and Welcoming Education,” aims to create a collaboration with solidarity associations involved in promoting an education system for children in underdeveloped or developing countries. The goal is to create an archive of texts, drawings, and photographic material, which our publishing studio will transform into a collection of stories to be published in an edited anthology, complete with an ISBN, available for purchase both nationally and internationally. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the partner association to support children’s education.

OBJECTIVES OF THE “LISA” PROJECT

“LISA” seeks to raise awareness about the importance of promoting education in underdeveloped or developing countries, while simultaneously fostering a sense of solidarity. It does so by connecting two similar worlds: less fortunate children who write the stories and well-off children who read those stories. The project is based on the idea that people should not support solidarity with blind eyes, and it does not aim to be another form of “charity” or blind donation. LISA wants to give a voice to stories that often reach us only in the tragic form chosen by the media. LISA wants to speak to young readers, but also to older ones, and guide them on a journey through the reality of those who live beyond the sea, bringing us one step closer.

WHAT IS THE “OPEN SCHOOL FOR LISA” PROJECTย ย ย ย ย ย ย

The “Open School for LISA” project aims to create a bridge between children aged 7 to 13 who attend school in Italy and children like them who go to school in a completely different context, such as a developing country.
The project requires an investment from the Italian school involved to purchase a package that includes a number of copies of one or more books from the series, in Italian or English, the presentation of the project in the classrooms through video projection, and a live storytelling performance to share Lisa’s story with the students, along with other activities that directly engage the students in reading, writing, drawing, in response to the children from the involved country. The school can decide whether to purchase the full package or just the individual copies of the book to be used as teaching material in the activities they deem most appropriate, either by directly purchasing the copies on Amazon or by making a donation to the fundraising campaign in support of the project.

OBJECTIVES OF THE “OPEN SCHOOL FOR LISA” PROJECT

The goal of introducing LISA into schools is to help students understand, from an early age, the values of hospitality, inclusivity, and integration through the knowledge of others.

HOW CAN THE SCHOOL CONTRIBUTE BY JOINING THE PROJECT

The school can contribute in two ways by joining the project:

  1. Purchasing the copies: By purchasing the book copies directly on Amazon (part of the proceeds will go to the partner association that will fund children’s education in the involved country);
  2. Donation: By participating in the fundraising campaign with a donation to support the LISA project and receive discounted copies.
